Hi, My name is Gilles Lambert.
I am 24 and freshly Graduated Multidisciplinary Digital Designer based in Europe Belgium I am passionate by almost everything that happens around me, especially by Nature, Graphic Design, Code, Photography and Video. My interpretation of your Mantra
Make something of your life...
This is pretty much the first thoughts that popup everybody's mind in the 21st Century. Today more challenging than ever like they say. But I'm pretty confident. I believe in what we do. We are the next creative generation and we will have a significant role in the near future. Let's tell stories through the digital!
The begining ... there must be a begining. Looking back eight months ago I finished my studies as web designer, in June -2014.
I planned to relax, work a little and think carefully untill January -2015 before making a decision... I had given myself two options. Becoming freelance -01 or join an agency -02 for a while to improve my experience. Through option -02 I had another choice to make. Stay -2.1 in my little Belgium or go outside -2.2 explore another part of the world ? You know what I've chosen.
Life can appear complex and difficult ... Untill you think it's not. Or better said untill you start making your own decisions that will change that life in a complex but interesting and valuable experience that will allow you to make something great. I want of that "complex, rich, creative, emmotional" life. I will fight for it.
Once you take a decision you have to go through and give all you have.
Another thing that goes without saying for me is the fact I want to join Instrument Clan for this camp. It will be new for me to leave my home town, my family, my love but I need to do it... now!
I need this experience, I need this dream to come true. Speaking of dreams, before I saw your tweet about the summer camp, I planned to go to Iceland for a 3 weeks trip on my own in May. It's always been one of my biggest dreams to go there. I canceled it for Instrument... Because I know it's worth it!! And Oregon is certainly an amazing place too. Hope it means something :)
Make the complex Simple. I illustrated the sentence word by word, and tried to connect the words. This is and will always be the challenge... connexion! Connecting people, connecting connected people, connecting people with their environments to get a better life.
This is the essence of design : “Making people's life easier”. I'm and I always will be searching the keys to find the truth! I know I will need a lot of practice, experiences and patience to connect the right dots and perhaps understand 1/ of the world matrix and everything arround us.
I first discover you thanks to one of your amazing projects “This Place”. I immediately fell in love with what you do. That's the kind of project I love the most, same with “The Build”. I love making images and documenting people's who are unique. Especially people who work outside or who use their hands to craft, achieve something unique. Oregon looks wonderful for that. From what I've seen it seems like in Oregon people have a particular and beautiful lifestyle that allow them to inspire each other and make great things together. I'm really excited about this internship. If the magic happen, this would be my first adventure in the US!
